Amara Mushrooms operates under a licensed Food Safety Management System (FSMS) developed specifically for small-scale, high-integrity food production. The system includes documented procedures for lab protocols, substrate handling, environmental hygiene, traceability, and post-harvest processing. It is maintained through daily verification, internal audits, process validation procedures, and third-party testing — ensuring high standards of food safety without compromising product quality or sustainability.

If you need support developing or codifying written procedures for your own food business — in alignment with HACCP, ISO 22000, FDA, EU, or FSANZ frameworks — we’d be happy to refer you to our independently operated FSMS consulting team.

🧪 Testing Services

We operate a suite of professional, laboratory-grade testing equipment, which we use for internal quality control on our farm and in our food processing operations.

We understand that purchasing specialised equipment can be cost-prohibitive for many small to medium-sized producers — so we're pleased to offer testing services to support other local food businesses.

Our testing is ideal for internal quality monitoring, as well as supporting verification of critical control points in HACCP, GAP, or other food safety or agricultural systems. All results are provided by email and include a recent calibration declaration for equipment traceability. 

Please note that our services are not NATA accredited and as such are not applicable for formal certifications.

Samples may be sent by post, or contact us to arrange local drop-off or collection options within the Great Southern region.

🔬 Tests Available

  • pH Testing
    Temperature-compensated, with ±0.1°C accuracy. Useful for verifying acicidy or alkilinitity in foods, soils, water.

  • Water Activity (aW) Testing
    Essential for shelf stability validation in dried, or vacuum-packed products.
